Hello, parents and students! It was so nice to meet those of you who were able to come to preview day. For those of you who were working or not able to make it, I am so excited to meet you on Monday! We are in for a great year this year. I wanted to share some important information so that we can start off the year on the same page regarding procedures, expectations and other items. Attached is a welcome letter that your student will receive on Monday. Please read on for more information!
Homework: All homework assignments will be posted on this website. Although students may not have paper and pencil homework each night for language arts, I am expecting them to read for at least 15 minutes per night. I will also be giving students a reading log to fill out their nightly reading. In addition, there will be 2 long-term consistent assignments that students will be expected to complete. In language arts, student will be required to complete a monthly book report on a book of their choice. In religion, students will be required to complete a short report on a saint of their choice per trimester. More information about these assignments (including a rubric) will be given next week. In addition, this information will be posted on this site. All project assignments will be expected to be turned in on the designated due date. If work is not turned in on time, 10 percentage points will be deducted from the final grade. A missing assignment slip will be sent home with students for parents to sign indicating that the assignment is late.
Parent Communication: This year, I want to keep a very open line of communication with each family in order to ensure the success of all students. You can voice your questions or concerns to me in several ways. You can call the school office at (410)427-7400 and leave a message on my extension. You can also send me an email at [email protected]. Finally, you can send me a message using the “Contact” tab at the top of this website.
