Religion Prayer Assignment - Dr. Edmonson, the superintendent of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, is asking for elementary students to send in prayers for a campaign that Catholic Relief Services is running. I am counting this as a homework grade. The guildelines are posted below. These are due by Friday, October 2.
"Catholic Relief Services and Caritas Internationalis are creating an Advent prayer book of elementary aged writers from all over the globe. Does your school have prayers you’d like to submit? As the Catholic Church’s “One Human Family, Food for All” campaign comes to a close, children from around the world are being invited to submit a prayer for this year’s Advent season prayer book.
Themes: Hunger and Food Poverty, Advent and Hope.
Additional Theme Concept Ideas: We are emphasizing the need for both individuals and their communities to be grounded in their faith and love of God. Stemming from that faith, that all people will be called to action to respond to the hungry and vulnerable.
Guidelines: Write a prayer calling on God to let our hearts be transformed and steeped in the spirit of sharing.
• Not too long, not too short. Range: 8-15 lines
• Rhyming is accepted though not necessary
• Try and write of your own accord – tips from parents are welcome, but being original is best!
